Test Process
To begin with, our team of certified Lexus technicians will evaluate your vehicle’s brakes to see what could be ailing them. If it’s safe enough to do so, they’ll start off with a test drive to see how they work in action. From this, they can tell if the problem is with the brake pads, where they can take off the wheels for a more in-depth look at them. They’ll also survey the calipers to see if any pistons are sticking out from wear and tear around Charleston. If there’s a fluid leak, they’ll try to pinpoint where it could be emanating from. They'll take a peek under the hood as well to see any other problems, especially with the brake lines that may have cracked.
Brake Replacement
As soon as the problem has been located, our Service Department will be able to remedy the situation. The most likely problem is that the brake pads have worn down over time. These components are pushed into the wheel’s rotors and create friction to slow the vehicle down. The calipers and rotors can also break or crack, but this is a more rare occurrence. If the issue is with the brake lines, then they too can get replaced and the fluid will get refilled.
